A working knowledge of PSP is assumed.
This tutorial was written using psp9, but should work in all versions.
SUPPLIES NEEDED
Mask bp.mergedround
NOTE: This tutorial is written for the supplies I used. If you are using something different, you may need to adjust some settings.
IPL = In Palette Layers
LET'S BEGIN
In PSP, open a new image size 700 x 700. Flood fill with white.
New Raster Layer. Fill with a color from your tube. I used 7675be.
Apply the mergedround mask. Check Source Luminance. Fit to Layer. Hide all mask.
Layers - Merge - Merge Group.
Layers - Merge - Merge Group.
New Raster Layer. Fill with a background paper of choice. I used the background that came with my tube. Reduce this layer down to 98%. Apply the mergedround mask using the same settings last used. Layers - Merge - Merge Group.
Paste, as a new layer, your tube. I used the close up of my tube. Keep it centered and rotate left by 10 degrees. IPL, right click your tube and duplicate. Click on the duplicate apply the same mergedround mask with same settings. Now apply the mergedround mask once more.
Click on the original tube and reduce opacity to 50.
Paste, as a new layer, the crescent moon. Position it to the right side of your tube. IPL, move it down below the tube layer.
Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. Fill with white. Select none. IPL move the white layer below the moon layer. Still on the white layer, go to Adjust - Blur - Gaussian blur - set to 10. IPL, right click the moon and merge down to the white.
Use the soften brush and carefully soften only the very edges of the moon to blend into the white.
Click on your ellipse tool and select the circle. Solid line and width at 2. Put the color white in your foreground color palette. Close the background palette. Draw out a large circle. Bigger than your tube, but smaller than the mask layer.
Using your text tool place the cursor on one of the nodes on the left side of the circle. When you see the A with an arc ) stop. Open your text box. I used the font Vani, size 14. Put black in the background color. Type out a short phrase. I wrote 'MYSTERIOUS as the night sky'. Highlight the word Mysterious and changed the size to 24. To move your text forward, put the cursor at the front of the first word and tap the space bar until it's where you want. To move it backwards simply tap the backspace key. Click apply.
Go to Edit - Copy - Edit - Undo text. Now paste the text as a new layer. IPL, delete the vector circle. Place your text to the upper left corner of your tag. (see my tag) Click on the text and go to Selections - Select all - Float - Defloat - Modify - Expand - by 1. New Raster Layer. Fill with this color, 2f324a. Another New Raster Layer. Fill with white. Select None.
IPL move the dark blue layer below the light purple. Move the white layer below the dark blue. Click on the light purple layer. Go to Adjust - Add/Remove Noise - Add Noise. Check Gaussian and Monochrom. Noise at 25%. Click blue layer and go to Adjust - Softness - Soften. Click on the white layer and go to Adjust - Blur - Gaussian Blur. Set to 10.
I went to my picture tube tool and found a sparkle. I placed just a few over some of the stars on my tag. Just to highlight them.
Add the copyright. Merge visible all layers.
If you are not going to animate then Add name and save.
For the glitter, add a new Raster Layer. Use your paint brush size 1. Put white in your foreground color palette. Now, randomly put dots around your tag. Not too many, about a dozen. Right click and copy merge. Paste in Animation Shop as a new animation.
Back to your tag. Go to Edit - Clear.
Again, randomly put dots around your tag. Right click and copy merge.
In animation shop right click the tag you just posted and paste after currant layer. Go back to your psp tag and repeat. You want to repeat these steps until you have at least 4 frames.
Go to Edit - Select All. Now go to Animation - Frame Properties. Set to 20.
Go to View - Animation. If you are satisfied save as a mng file.
To add a name. Once you make it in psp, paste it in animation shop as a new animation. Go up to tool bar and select Propagate Paste. (or look under Edit tab)
Right click name and type Ctrl a Ctrl c. Now right click the first frame of your tag and type Ctrl a Ctrl e. Place name at the bottom of tag, slightly off center to the right.
Save as a gif.
