Hello Spring

A working knowledge of PSP is assumed.

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Tube of choice. One with a close up works best.
I am using the art of Keith Garvey, while I purchased my tube from his store, he also sells at CDO.

Scrap Kit Hello Spring

Font used, Flores

NOTE: This tutorial is written for the materials I used. If you are using something different you may need to adjust some settings.

IPL = In Palette Layers

Reminder: Be sure to delete template layers once you have filled them.

Let's Begin

Open needed supplies and template in PSP. Duplicate the template then delete original. IPL, delete the credit layers.

Rotate all the frame layers to the left, by 90 degrees. Move each layer up just a tiny bit. (see my tag)
Rotate the triple leaf 90 degrees to the left, then move it to the right side of the layered flower.
Move each layer of the flower to the right just a tiny bit.

Click on the white background layer. New Raster Layer. Fill with any paper from the scrap, or a color of choice. I chose paper 8. Apply the AR315 mask, regular settings. Layers - Merge Group.

Now let's fill in the template layers. I like to start at the bottom. You can choose which ever papers you want. I'm showing you what I used.
Click on the big square. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. From your foreground color palette click the pattern tab and locate paper 7. Keep scale at 100. Angle at 0. Fill the big square. New Raster Layer. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 1. Fill new layer with this color, 91c06d. Select None. IPL, move the solid layer below the paper layer. Give solid a drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 70. Blur = 4. Color is black.

Click on the three panel rectangle. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. In your foreground color palette click the pattern tab and select paper 11. Fill the bottom panel. Next, select paper 13 and fill the middle panel. For the top panel select paper 12.
Selections - Modify - Expand - by 1. Fill bottom with this color, 78ab4f. The middle with this color, edca24. Now the top with this color, edca24. Select None. IPL, move the solid colors below the dotted layers. Give solid color the same drop shadow last used.

Click on the frame fill layer. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. Fill with paper 5, use same settings as before. While this layer is still active, go ahead and paste, as a new layer, your tube. I resized mine down to 80%. I positioned mine off center to the left. Selections - Invert. Delete. Select None. (We will come back to the tube in a bit)

Make a gradient color. Use a dark and light color from your tube or the scrap kit. I used for the foreground color, 78ab4f and the background color is, abd68b. In foreground click the gradient tab. Settings: Style = Linear. Angle = 45. Repeats = 2.
Click on the frame layer. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. Fill with the gradient color. Select None. IPL, right click the filled layer and duplicate. Change the duplicate's Blend Mode to Multiply. Reduce opacity to 80%. IPL, right click the duplicate and merge down. Give frame a drop shadow. H & V = 2. Opacity = 70. Blur = 6. Color is black.

Make a new gradient. Background color is white. Foreground color is 808080. Change repeat setting to 3.
Open a new image, 5x5. Fill with the gradient color. Copy.
Back to tag. IPL, right click frame trim 1 and merge down to trim 2. Select all - Float - Defloat. Right click tag and Paste Into Selection the gradient paper. Select None. Go to Adjust - Add/Remove Noise. Add Noise. Setting: Check Gaussian and Monochrome. Set noise to 50. Give a drop shadow. H & V = 0. Opacity = 100. Blur = 4. Color is black.

Click on the leaf. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. Fill with paper 8. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 1. New Raster Layer. Fill with this color, 78ab4f. Select None. Give same noise effect you used for the frame trim. Add drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 70. Blur = 6. Color is black. IPL, move green layer below the poka dot layer.
Click on the poka dot leaf. Effects - 3D - Inner Bevel. Settings: Bevel #2. Width = 10. Smoothness = 25. Depth = 1. Ambience and Shininess = 0.

Now for the flower.
Click on flower 6. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. Fill with paper 6. New Raster Layer. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 1. Fill new layer with the color black. Select none. IPL, move black layer below plaid. Give black layer same drop shadow last used. Give plaid layer same bevel as you used for the leaf. Repeat these steps for remaining flower layers.
For flower 5, I used paper 10.
flower 4, I used paper 12 and change scale to 60.
Flower 3, I used paper 6 again, and changed scale to 50.
flower 2, I used paper 5. Change scale to 40 and rotate to 50 degrees.
flower 1, I used paper 9

Add some elements, as many or as few as you like. Here's what I did.

Fence. Bottom of frame. Use Raster Deform tool to stretch fence so that it matches the width of the 3 panel rectangle. (see my tag) IPL, move the fence layer below the leaf layer. Right click and duplicate the fence. Change the blend mode to Screen and reduce opacity to 60. Right click and merge down to original fence layer. Give a drop shadow. Same as used for flowers.
Grass. Place in front of and at bottom of fence. Use Raster Deform tool to squeeze the grass to fit the width of the fence.
bike 4. Place below frame. Mirror. Resize down to 85. Drop shadow, H & V = 1. Opacity = 50. Blur = 4. Color is black. IPL, move bike layer below the black 6 flower. Also below the grass layer.
Frog. Resize down to 50%. Place to bottom left, in front of grass. Give same drop shadow.
heart. Place to right of frame below both frame layers and the flower. Rotate right by 15 degrees. Give same drop shadow we've been using.
Bow 7. Resize down to 75%. Rotate right by 20 degrees. Place at top of the heart. Drop shadow.
daisy trim. Rotate left 90 degrees. Resize down to 50%. Drop shadow. Place along left side of frame.
Ball 1. Resize down to 50%. Resize down again by 50%. Give drop shadow. Move to upper left corner of frame. IPL, right click and duplicate Ball 1. Move to bottom left of frame.
Frame 2. Move to far left of tag. IPL, move to bottom of layers, one place above white background. Duplicate and Mirror. Drop shadow. (see my tag)
butterfly 2 and 3. Resize down to 75% place to right side of tag.

Ok, let's go back to the tube layer.
IPL, right click and duplicate. Click on the duplicate. Go do Adjust - Brightness and Contrast - Set Brightness to 15 and Contrast to 0. Adjust - Blur- Gaussian Blur - set to 4. Reduce Opacity to 50. Give original tube layer a drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 50. Blur = 6. Color is black.

Add copyright and a name. Merge all layers. Save.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and found it easy to follow.
