Let's Begin
Open template and supplies in PSP.
Duplicate template and delete the original. IPL, delete the credit layers. Delete the shadow layers as well, unless you prefer to keep them. Do not delete the burlap shadow.
Right click the sheet of paper layer and copy. Paste it on your work space as a new image and set it aside for now.
Right click the sheet of paper layer and copy. Paste it on your work space as a new image and set it aside for now.
Click on the white background layer. From your foreground color palette, click the pattern tab and select the denim paper from my supplies. Angle = 0. Scale = 100. Fill the new raster layer. Select None.
Apply the AR315 mask. Layers - Merge Group. IPL, right click and duplicate the mask. Right click the top mask layer and merge down.
With your magic wand, click on the mask layer, but not on the mask itself, but outside it. Selections - Modify - Feather. Set to 20. Click Delete once or twice.
Click on the background paper. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. In your foreground color palette, under the pattern tab, select the plaid paper from my supplies. Set Angle to 0. Scale to 25. Fill the new raster layer. Select None. Give a drop shadow. H & V = 2. Opacity = 75. Blur = 12. Color is black.

I decided to leave the burlap layer and the shadow as it is. IPL, I right click the burlap layer and merged it down to the shadow layer.
Click on rectangle 2. Select All - Float - Defloat. Paste, as a new layer, the denim paper. Selections - Invert. Delete. Give it the same drop shadow you used for the mask layer.
Click on rectangle 1. Select All - Float - Defloat - Modify - Expand - by 4. Paste, as a new layer the paper layer you saved earlier. Selections - Invert. Delect. Select None. IPL, move the paper layer below rectangle 1 layer. Increase size to 104. Rotate to the left 2 degrees. Give the paper layer same drop shadow last used.
Click again on rectangle 1. Select All - Float - Defloat. Paste, as a new layer, the plaid paper. Selections - Invert. Delete. Select None. Drop Shadow last used.
Paste, as a new layer, your tube. For the tube I used, Image - Mirror. Resize image down to 30%. Give tube the same drop shadow we've been using. IPL, right click tube layer and duplicate. Hide the duplicate.
Using your rectangle selection tool, trace the edge of the plaid rectangle. Selections - Invert. Click on the tube and delete. Select none. IPL, unhide the duplicate tube. Use your free hand selection tool and trace around the hair. Selections - Invert. Delete.
Click on the stick pin. Put this color in your foreground color, c0c0c0. Use your 'change to target' brush set at 100 opacity. Run your cursor over the pin to make it gray. Set Noise to 50. Reduce the opacity to 60. IPL, right click and merge down to template layer. (Do not delete grass 1 template layer.) Add a drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 50. Blur = 4. Color is black.
Click on grass 2. Select All - Float - Defloat. New Raster Layer. Fill with this color, 76663a. Give a drop shadow.
Click on the lace ribbon. I decided to keep the lace template as is. IPL duplicate lace. Change blend mode to Darken. Set opacity to 80. Right click duplicate and merge down to template. Add drop shadow, same as last used.
For placement of the flowers and butterflies, see my tag. Give each a drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 50. Blur = 4. Color is black.
Place the charm at the eye of the stick pin. Erase a pinch of it to give the appearance it is looped through the eye.
I chose to leave the two strip layers and their shadow as is. Using the font Scrypticali, I typed out a simple saying. You can do the same or make your own.
Add copyright and a name. Merge all layers, Save.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and found it easy to follow.
