Build A Snowman

A working knowledge of PSP is assumed.

Supplies needed

Tube of choice.
I am using the art of Sherri Baldly, which I purchased a license to use from My Tubed Art.
(Actually, the tube I used is part of a merged image. I cut out the other half.)

My supplies HERE

Winni_mask44.1  HERE  (Page 4, sixth one down)

Plug In filters
VDL Adrenaline - Snowflake
EyeCandy5 - Nature - Snowdrift

Font used is 2Peas Mister Giggles

NOTE: This tutorial is written for the supplies I used. If you are using something different, you may need to adjust some settings.

IPL - In Palette Layers

Install all supplies as you would normally. (I say that because not everyone does this the same way. lol)

All Drop Shadows for this tag are H & V = 1. Opacity = 65. Blur = 4. Color is black. Unless otherwise stated.

Let's Begin

In PSP, open a new image  600 x 600 and flood fill white.

In your color palette, make a gradient color. Foreground is 8187a9 , and background is e9e6ea. In foreground click the gradient tab. Style = Sunburst. No angle, no repeat, and no invert.
Create a new raster layer and fill with the gradient color.
Apply Winni_mask44.1. Source luminance - Fit to layer - Hide all mask.
Layers - Merge - Merge group. Resize down to 95%.

Paste, as a new layer, the side of house, from my supplies. Move to the left side of tag. Not all the way. See my tag.

Paste, as a new layer, the plant. Duplicate. Move the plants to the lower right side of the house. Use your warp brush to bend or sway the plants so they don't look exactly alike.

Paste, as a new layer, your tube. The tube I used was part of a merged image. I cut off the other half. Mirrored, and reduced size to 75%. IPL, move the tube layer below the house layer. Have the tube peeking from the side of the house.

Ok, now let's play in the snow. lol
Close your foreground color and make the background color white. In preset shapes select the rectangle tool and draw out a thin rectangle about 425 x 15 in size. Layers - Convert to Raster Layer. Duplicate. IPL hide the duplicate for now. Center this rectangle just below the tube's feet. Make this the top layer of your tag.
Now, go to Effects - Plug Ins - EyeCandy5 Nature - Snowdrift.
 Settings::
Settings tab -
Small Lumpy Snow
Basic tab -
Drift height = 48.00.  Clumping = 50. Surface roughness = 20. Droop = 100. (everything else is 0 or blank)
Lighting tab -
Light direction = 126. Shadow strength - 30. Shadow color = b49e70.
Duplicate and move duplicate layer behind tube layer. Raise it about half an inch or so, and mirror.

Unhide the duplicate rectangle. Apply the same snowdrift settings Except make the drift height 95. And set the random number to 5025.
If this worked right, you should notice the right side of your snowdrift is rounded. Use your lasso selection tool aka freehand, to trace out a circle around the rounded part of this drift. It doesn't have to be perfect. Selections - Invert. Delete. Select none. You should now have a snowball. (I hope) lol.
IPL, move the snowball behind the tube layer. Center this snowball between your tube and the edge of your tag. (see my tag)
Now duplicate twice. Resize the 1st duplicate down to 80% and place it atop the first snowball. Resize the 2nd duplicate down to 60%. Place this one in front of the original snowdrift and slightly to the right. (see my tag). I used the warp brush tool to very slightly reshape my snowballs so they don't all look exactly alike.

Click on your background mask layer. Effects - Plug Ins - VDL Adrenaline - Snowflakes.
Settings: Amount = 1. Size range begin = 90. Size range end = 100. Hardness = 49. Transparency = 50. Snow color = basic. Random seed = 7.

Open your text box. Font is 2Peas Mister Giggles, size 16 Bold. Leading = 0.099. Kerning = 25. Background color is fcfbf6. Using three lines, type out 'Do you want to build a snowman? The build a snowman lines need to be several spaces to the right. (see my tag) Place this text at the upper right of your tag. (see my tag).

Add your copyright and name. Save

For the name, I used the same font 2Peas size 36. Background color white. I added a drop shadow. H & V = 2. Opacity = 80. Blur = 6. color, beacbd.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and found it easy to follow
