IPL - In Palette Layers
Let's Begin
In PSP, open a new image size 600 x 600. Flood fill with white. New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Apply WSL_mask 161. Check, fit to canvas. Layers - Merge - Merge Group. Increase size to 115.
Paste, as a new layer, the trees bg paper. Apply same mask. Merge group. Increase size to 105.
Make your foreground color black and background color blank/null. In your preset shapes, select the rectangle tool - square. Regular line style. Size 5. Draw out a large square in the center of your canvas. About 460 x 460. Go to Object - Align - Center in canvas. Go to Layers - Convert to Raster Layer.
Select All - Float - Defloat - Modify - Contract - by 1. In your foreground color, click the pattern tab and select the checkers pattern. Set scale to 10. Fill your selection with the checker pattern. Select none. Add a drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 85. Blur = 5. color is black.
Paste, as a new layer, your tube. (I did not paste the candle at this time.) Give tube a drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 80. Blur = 4. Color is black.
Center your tube, and line up the straight line of the bottom of the skirt with the frame line. (see my tag)
Add any elements you like. I kept mine simple and only added a couple of butterflies and a bauble. (If you are not going to animate, go ahead and add the candle.)
Add your copyrights and name. If you do not animate, Save.
For the name, I used the font Acadian size 44 B. Background color only, with this color, 36cac7. Using EyeCandy4, add a black gradient glow. Drop shadow, H & V =2. Opacity = 85. Blur = 5. Color is black.
ANIMATIONS
After adding elements and copyrights to your tag, merge all visible. Using your lasso selection tool, also known as freehand selection tool, carefully trace out the small white dots on the wings. Do as many, or as few as you like. Now go to Effects - plug ins - Xenofex2 - Constellations.
Settings: Star size = 4 or 4.12. Size Variation = 20. Edge Density = 1. Overall Density = 1. Overdrive = 100. Twinkle = 10. Put tic in Keep original image. Select None.
Copy tag and paste into Animation Shop as a new animation.
Go back to psp tag. Edit - Undo Select None. - Undo Constellations. Go back to Constellations and click random seed. Select none. Copy tag. In animation shop, right click tag and paste after currant frame. Repeat these steps two more times. You want to have 4 frames total.
Back in PSP. Copy the candle and paste it as a new image. Use your lasso/freehand selection tool to trace around the flame and smoke. Being careful not to include any of the candle. Delete. Select none. Again using your selection tool, trace out a small horizontal, rectangle surrounding the nub part of the flame.
Effects - EyeCandy5 - Nature - Fire. Settings: Settings tab - medium candle. Basic tab - Fire direction = 90. Column length = 20. Flame width = 30. Expansion = 10. Waiver = 20. Turbulence = 25. Flame Intensity = 100. Soft Edges = 50. Put Check at Start from bottom. Select None.
Copy and paste in animation shop as a new animation.
Back to psp. Edit - Undo Select None - Undo Fire. Go back to Fire and click random seed. Select none. Copy and in animation shop, right click the candle and paste after current frame. Repeat these steps two more times so you will have 4 frames total. (Play around with the fire settings, to find what you like.)
In animation shop, go to tool bar and click on propagate paste. Click on your candle, go to Edit - Select All. Type Ctrl a - Ctrl c. Click on your tag and type Ctrl a - Ctrl e. Place the candle at the lower right of your tag. (see my tag)
Edit - Select all. Animation - Frame Properties - 15.
View - Animations. If you like how your tag looks, save as a mng.
To add your name to the animated tag, paste name in animation shop as a new animation. Make sure the propagate paste is still checked. Type Ctrl a - Ctrl c. Click on tag and type Ctrl a - Ctrl e. Place name at center bottom of tag, along the frame. Save as a gif.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and found it easy to follow.
